Erika (2017-2020)

I am lucky enough to say that I have had Ms. Walker as a teacher for the past three years of high school. Not only has she been one of my best teachers academically, she has demonstrated a significant level of care and concern for all of her students. Coming into senior year, I knew that AP Calculus BC was going to be a difficult course, but I had underestimated how challenging it would be. Although debating whether to drop the course or not, I knew Ms. Walker still believed in me which gave me the confidence to stick with it. With her help, she gave me the drive to work harder and prove to the both of us that I had it in me. After having a significant comeback I am happy to say I finished out the year strong and passed this year’s AP exam. Despite my doubts about myself, Ms. Walker knew I had the abilities all along and worked with me continuously. She gives each and every student the personal attention they need, and her empathy for us is consistently present as she understands the stresses we all face. It has been a great privilege to have Ms. Walker as a teacher, and anyone would be lucky to have her.
