Abigail (2016-2019)

I am currently a sophomore at Hamilton College. I had Ms. Walker as my math teacher for three consecutive years at Oliver Ames High School. I loved having Ms. Walker as a teacher because she provided new perspectives on complicated topics and encouraged collaboration. Whenever I was confused about a certain topic, Ms. Walker was always able to come up with a new way to explain it so that I could really understand the concept. I loved how she emphasized understanding the material over getting a good grade. On our worksheets, she organized problems from mild, medium, to spicy so that no matter what your skill level at the time, you could practice the concepts and challenge yourself. The spicy problems were difficult, but Ms. Walker taught me to enjoy finding new ways to approach a problem in order to solve it.
